If you never have been to Granite Peak Ski Area or been a member for years, a guide to the ski hill can help enhance your next visit. Below is an interview with Lisa Zilinsky, Director of Marketing of  Granite Peak Ski Area, who shares some tips and insight on the ski hill.

Please provide a brief description your ski hill/resort?

Granite Peak is a mountain, a place where you can ski for 3-4 days and not get bored in 3-4 hours. And because we’re a mountain, you’ll spend less time riding the lifts and more time skiing the mountain with our high speed 6-passenger and 2 high speed quad chairs, not to mention 2 other chairs and 2 conveyor lifts. And it’s not just skiing more in the daylight, Granite Peak features nighttime skiing; give it a try, nothing beats skiing in the moonlight.

What is unique about your property or what separates your ski hill from others in the area?

We are the tallest in Wisconsin.  We pride ourselves on being a family oriented resort and that’s what makes us #1.  We have the most terrain accessed by high speed lifts in Wisconsin.  The most runs and the best terrain for every ability level.  We are tied to Rib Mountain State Park that means we have great access all throughout summer for running, hiking and more all season long!

Any tips for first time visitors?

It pays to plan ahead! Make sure to book farther in advance for the discounted tickets we offer.  With our all new RFID cards, you have access to reload your tickets online without ever having to come to the ticket window again.  Allows for smoother access through the lift lines and no more trying to scramble to pull out your ticket.  Scan through the gate and you’re in!

How many ski runs do you offer? What percentage of them are beginner, intermediate and advance? What is your favorite run and why?

We have 68 Runs total.  30% Beginner, 40% Intermediate and 30% Advanced.

We have 3-4 terrain parks during the regular ski season.  They have jumps, jigs, rails, boxes and more! Over 5-15 features per park.

What are your dining or food options? What is your favorite snack or dish?

We have a wide variety of food options to choose from.  In our Historic Chalet is the original chalet from 1939 when the ski hill first started to form.  Our Sundance chalet is our big chalet to the right of the historic chalet.  It offers a much wider area that can hold large weddings and large concert series events.  We offer everything from Wraps, Burgers, Salads, Soups, Pizzas, Chicken Tenders, Stir Frys, Mac n Cheese and more!

Do you offer lodging on property or have lodging recommendations for traveling skiers? Please share accommodation options.

We do not have lodging on site quite yet.  We partner with all the premier lodging properties in the area.  Everyone is within 1-15 minutes of our location.
